My newspaper columns have been circulating around the state of Virginia since the first of the century. I have written articles for Microsoft and Tech Republic along with other news’ media. Follow that up with teaching, speaking at local events, working in IT for a local telecommunications company, supporting local users, designing and maintaining web sites, a few repair jobs and you have my computer experience and my name of Double Clicks.
I currently live in Harrisonburg, VA and have worked for NTELOS since 1999. With NTELOS I originally started as the Corporate Computer Instructor. In May, 2009, I changed to another job as Application Support Analyst continuing with some training.
Starting in 2010, I started a call in talk show with Jim Britt of WSVA radio (AM 550). If you are in the Harrisonburg area tune in at 10:00am on the third Monday each month. Call in and let me see if I can help you out…or you can always email me.
My wife and I were both born and raised in the Tidewater (now referred to as Hampton Roads) area of Virginia. In 1991, the family and I moved to the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. We’ve found it to be a great change and have no interest in living anywhere else.
I graduated from Old Dominion University, Norfolk, VA, with a BS in Secondary Education and Physics & Geophysical Sciences…many, many years ago. I have written training manuals for the Community College system. I am also a certified Microsoft Office Specialist Master Instructor, which means that I have the certification from Microsoft to teach and write manuals for their Office Suite of applications. Training computer courses and writing about them are my favorites.
I taught computers and software since the late 80s. Until starting a new, more time consuming job with Ntelos, I was an adjunct instructor at Blue Ridge Community College, Weyers Cave, VA, and Massanutten Technical Center, Harrisonburg, VA. Due to this job change I had to step down from the adjunct positions.
If you would like to keep up with Double Clicks at other online locations try Facebook or, my favorite Twitter.
The Double Click columns cover most any computer, or technology, question that comes to mind or that my readers ask me…which happens quite often. I hope to see you around the net!
